*** i like... choc ovo ***

For those of you who don't know Ovomaltine (or Ovaltine, I think it is called in English speaking countries), it is like Milo: a malt drink... only exponentially better than Milo. I could eat the stuff with a spoon it is that good- wait.. I do eat it with a spoon because I dont drink milk. My granddad used to pay me to drink Kaba (which is like Nesquick). He was convinced I needed the calcium. I almost vomited daily, but at least I was a couple of German Marks richer each morning- but that is besides the point.

When I was a child I tasted a chocolate filled with compressed blocks of stuff that tasted just like Ovomaltine, it was heavenly. For years i have (to no avail) been on a quest to find something similar and for years had to settle for those Milo bars (come on you all know what im talking about- those Nestle bars packaged in green and branded with the Milo logo, but in reality taste nothing like it).

Anyhow, yesterday, approximately 16 years after my encounter with the infamous chocolate bar, my dad came home from a visit to my mother in Switzerland. Knowing my obsession with this particular type of chocolate, he tracked down "Choc Ovo" for me. 16 years later it still tastes just as good.

My tastebuds were celebrating a crunchy, sticky, powdery reunion with their long lost malten friend.

Ovo Choc is the best chocolate invention since chocolate itself... i like Ovo Choc...

I agree wholeheartedly. It is the best choc snack anywhere in the world. I could eat one bar every day for the rest of my life and never get fed up with it! Fortunately we go to Switzerland twice a year and always bring several packets home!
